Gia Catanzarite is a Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with over 20 years of experience in various treatment settings in Western Massachusetts. Most recently, Gia worked in a Behavioral Health leadership position for a Payor/ Provider health plan that serves individuals with complex health and social needs. In her clinical experience, Gia specializes in the adult and geriatric population with specialized expertise in supporting people who use drugs. She is active in the Harm Reduction advocacy community and is an Opioid Overdose Rescue and Prevention trainer. Gia has a BA in Psychology from Umass in Amherst and an MSW from Springfield College. Gia’s academic work includes research, peer-reviewed publication, and international presentations on the significance of language in bilingual psychotherapy. A lifelong learner, she is currently enrolled in a training program to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.
